Who is Jane Doe?
0Jane Doe was probably in her early 20s when she began writing the Tales of the Twelfth True Heir and was a very private person. She presumably was independently supported by other means and wrote purely for her own entertainment. In the early 60’s, she ceased writing the series (with a tense and unusually high stakes installment,) and proceeded to publish her friends with her small publishing house.
Her stories have been claimed to be an early example of speculative fiction due to the fantastical future she imagined. Some critics call her world idealized and claim her world would surely fall to civil war and strife. On the other hand, she has been praised for writing stories with empowered women, people of color, and an unusually modern take on a usually xenophobic, sexist, and racist genre.
She has refused all interviews and phone calls, and lives in a small house with a densely planted garden. In letters, she says her stories were – just that. Stories to entertain people. Obviously, questions have been asked about the divisive Thirteenth True Heir – a sequel by a fan named L. Rai Queens. Patience Grace, the dashing adventurer created by L. Rai Queens, marries Redeye McGinty within this fan-made continuation of the story. The only known comment by Jane Doe was that she wished Redeye’s wife would use his real name. L. Rai Queens declined to comment on her hatred of the name “Mervin.”
Jane Doe’s legacy is one of a philanthropist publishing many well known poets and writers. However it is her stories which we wish to open to the public.
